New Circulation Policy for "Out of District" Library Borrowers
Access to majority of library collection will be unaffected.
Beginning September 6, Algonquin Area Public Library cardholders will have exclusive access to Hot Books, New Books, Hot DVDs, New DVDs, Blue Ray DVDs and videogames. Additionally, requests for interlibrary loans through WorldCat will no longer be offered to outside cardholders, however all holds place prior to September 6, will be honored.
As new materials are entered into the general circulating collections they will be made available to cardholders from outside of the Algonquin Area Public Library District. Cardholders from other libraries can check out DVD’s from the general circulating collection with a limit of 5 DVDs per day, per card.
The staff of the Algonquin Area Public Library and Dundee Township Library District have been working together to notify cardholders of these changes and to ensure that both libraries continue to give excellent service to cardholders.
