March into the Library!

Algonquin Area Public Library District has exciting Spring Programming throughout March in the Youth Services Department!

MARCH into the Library for some exciting Youth Services Department Spring Programming.  Programs will cover topics ranging from Saint Patrick’s Day to the much anticipated Spring Break. Bookaneers: Eggs Mark the Spot

Saturday, March 9           2:00 – 3:00 pm

Eggs Mark the Spot is written and illustrated by Mary Jane Auch. Join the Library for this beginner’s level book discussion group. Together, we’ll read the story about an artistic, crime solving chicken, and learn about a few famous artists along the way. Then, we’ll create our own EGGstraordinary artwork. Passport to Adventure- Ireland

Saturday, March 16         10:30 am – 12:00 pm

Wear your green as we travel to Ireland in time for Saint Patrick’s Day! We will celebrate this country through stories, music and crafts. For Grades 2-3, registration is required. Please register online at www.aapld.org or in the Library at the Youth Services Desk.

 

Super Saturday – Saint Patrick’s Day

Saturday, March 16         2:00 – 3:30 pm

Come celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day with some stories and play a fun game. We will also give a nod to the Easter Bunny with an Easter craft, a Bunny Hop through the Library, and have an Easter egg relay. Join us for the fun! For grades K-1, registration is required. Drop-In Storytime: Celebrate Spring!

Saturday, March 23         10:00 am

Please join us for some “warm and sunny” stories songs and fingerplays that celebrate Spring! No registration is required to attend. This program is for families with children five and under.

 

Tween Scene: Origam-A-Rama

Saturday, March 23         2:00 – 3:00 pm

This popular program is back, Origam-A-Rama! Come learn about the art of paper folding and make your own origami shapes, animals, games, and more. This program is for youth in grades 4-8. Reading Café

Monday, March 25          2:00 – 3:00 pm

Come to our café and order some books off our fabulous menu of stories to share. Light snacks will be provided. This program is for families with children.  No registration is required to attend, all are welcome!

 

Spring Break Movie – No School Movie

Wreck-it Ralph

Home for Spring Break, come to the Library! Enjoy a viewing of Wreck-it Ralph. For decades, Ralph has played the bad guy in his popular video game. In a bold move, he embarks on an action-packed adventure and sets out to prove to everyone that he is a true hero with a big heart. When an evil army threatens their world, Ralph realizes he holds the fate of the entire arcade in his hands. Rated PG, 100 min.
