Join Book Clubbers on December 6 at 7:00 pm to talk about Greenwood’s novel This Glittering World.  Greenwood begins his novel on a November morning.  Ben Baily finds Ricky Begay, a young Navajo man, beaten and dying in the newly fallen snow.  Unable to forget the incident, especially once he meets Ricky’s sister, Shadi, Ben begins to question everything – from his job as a history professor to his relationship with his fiancée Sara.  Ben decided to discover the truth about Ricky’s death, in hopes of filling in the cracks of his own life.  Yet the answers leave him torn between his once-certain future and the choices that could liberate him at a cost.

On December 7 at 10:00 am, Book Discussion Group, Spinecrackers, will be discussing Jennifer Chiaverini’s The Christmas QuiltThe Christmas Quilt begins when Christmas Eve comes to Elm Creek Manor and the tenor of the holiday is far from certain.  Sylvia Bergstrom Compson, the Master Quilter, has her own reasons for preferring a quiet, even subdued, Christmas.  Her young friend Sarah McClure, however, takes the opposite view and decides to deck the halls brightly.  As she explores the trunks packed with Bergstrom family decorations that haven’t been touched in more than fifty years, Sarah discovers a curious unfinished Christmas quilt.
