 \nELGIN ACADEMY&rsquo\;S 35th ANNUAL GALA\nMarch 17\, 2012 @the Chicago 
 Marriott Northwest\n&nbsp\;\nElgin Academy&rsquo\;s EXTRAVAGANZA XXXV Di
 nner and Auction will be held on March 17\, 2012 at the Chicago Marriott
  Northwest in Hoffman Estates.\n&nbsp\;\nOne of the largest and most suc
 cessful fundraising events in the Chicago suburbs\, Extravaganza aims to
  generate financial support for academic\, athletic\, and fine arts prog
 rams\, as well as professional development of faculty and equipment upgr
 ades. The efforts of parents\, staff\, teachers\, and student volunteers
  combine to provide a night of exceptional food and fun which raises app
 roximately $150\,000 annually for the school\; attendees include alumni\
 , parents of both past and current students\, and other friends of the A
 cademy.\n&nbsp\;\nThis year&rsquo\;s theme is &ldquo\;Leading the Way.&r
 dquo\; The festivities will begin at 5:30pm\, featuring dinner\, live an
 d silent auctions\, and entertainment. The entertainment will include Sc
 ott McKay\, radio personality of McKay in the Morning on 94.9 The River\
 , as the MC for Elgin Academy&rsquo\;s Extravaganza XXXV.\n&nbsp\;\nElgi
 n Academy has upgraded the event with high- tech handheld devices known 
 as BidPals that allow auction participants to bid on items from anywhere
  at any time at the event site\, and to receive alerts when there is a h
 igher bid from another participant. Donations and registrations are avai

 citement for the event will begin with an online auction that can be vie

 estaurant certificates\, and more.&nbsp\; The live and silent auctions a
 t the event will also feature new items\, including a customized oil pai
 nting and limited edition prints from Star Wars and Science-Fiction arti
 st Dave Dorman.\n&nbsp\;\nAlan and Sandy Kirk have returned as this year
 &rsquo\;s Co-Chairs of Extravaganza XXXV. Sandy is also President of the
