DESCRIPTION:Introduced four years ago with low expectations\, the Shamroc
 k Shave benefit has quickly grown to become a major fundraising event at
  St. Margaret Mary Parish in Algonquin.&nbsp\;\nOn Saturday\, March 10th
  organizers estimate that over 50 men\, women and children will shave th
 eir heads to raise money for community families in need and for cancer r
 esearch.&nbsp\;\nThis year&rsquo\;s Shamrock Shave will combine fun\, fo
 od\, entertainment\, and head shaving in an effort to raise money for tw
 o very worthwhile causes. 100% of all event proceeds and pledges will be
  donated to the St. Vincent DePaul Society\, to support community famili
 es in need\, and to Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation.&nbsp\;
 \nLast year's Shamrock Shave event raised over $27\,000\, with over 500 
 adults and children in attendance.&nbsp\; This year\, event organizers h
 ope for even more success. According to Kal Gibron\, Event Chairperson\,
  &ldquo\;The Shamrock Shave is a unique fundraising event that brings th
 e entire community together to celebrate St. Patrick&rsquo\;s Day\, whil
 e also raising money for two great causes.&nbsp\; Last year\, once again
 \, the Shave exceeded all expectations. This year we hope to raise more 
 money for charity\, shave more heads\, and have even more 'Irish' family
  fun.&rdquo\;\nThe event starts with a traditional Irish dinner of corne
 d beef and cabbage at 5:30 PM in St. Margaret Mary&rsquo\;s School Gymna
 sium\, with dinner proceeds also being donated to charity. The &ldquo\;M
 ane&rdquo\; festivities begin at 6:45 PM with head shavings staggered th
 roughout the evening.&nbsp\; Stylists from HIP Salon in Schaumburg and o
 ther local hair salons have volunteered their time to perform the shavin
 gs\, and other local businesses are sponsoring the event with food and m
 onetary donations.&nbsp\;\nBetween the head shavings\, &ldquo\;Kingsfold
 \,&rdquo\; one of Chicagoland&rsquo\;s most renowned Irish bands\, will 
 be performing classic and contemporary favorites. The Dundee Scottish Pi
 pe Band\, Katie Scullen\, Summers Dance Crew and Mayer School of Irish D
 ance will also be performing.&nbsp\; A fun-filled family event\, there w
 ill also be a Jig Contest\, a Best Irish Costume contest\, kid&rsquo\;s 
 activities\, door prizes\, and raffles all in a fun St. Patrick&rsquo\;s
  Day party atmosphere.&nbsp\;\nAdmission is $2.00 at the door for adults
  and $1.00 for children\, and at no charge with a meal purchase. The St.
