We’ve had a great winter so far, weather wise.  Unless you like building snowmen or have a side job plowing snow, you probably agree.  The temperatures have been in the 20’s and 30’s, which we’ll take, right?  We haven’t had any big snowstorms, but got lucky last week when the temperatures climbed into the low 50’s and we got an inch of rain…which would’ve been 10 inches of snow with lower temperatures.

No daily talks about wind chill temperatures vs. ‘real’ temps.  We haven’t been below zero once!

And energy savings?  How much money are we saving this winter because it’s been on the mild side?  With gas prices being as high as they are and taxes going up and taking more money out of our paycheck, the fact that we aren’t getting killed on heating costs is a blessing…right?

Maybe not.  Not for everybody. 

There are people among us who are nervous about the weather.  Something isn’t right.  This isn’t ‘natural’.  It’s not ‘normal’.  Our good fortune must be because man is screwing up the environment.  They fret.

It cannot simply be that weather patterns are cyclical.  No, it must be our doing!

These people are what we refer to as ‘alarmists’. 

The younger alarmists have been getting taught in school since they were little that the actions of man are burning up the planet.  A lot of scientists say so!  And scientists are all about facts, right?  They wouldn’t lie to us…would they?  Ask the alarmists where these scientists get their money from.  Where do scientists get the money to buy nice cars, nice houses, feed their families and pay their low heating bills?  They couldn’t possibly be motivated by money, could they?

Esteemed scientist Michael Mann was THE biggest name involved with global warming (before global warming became 'climate change').  He is the scientist who came up with the ‘hockey stick’ graph that proved that temperatures were rising quickly and led us to the conclusion that man was burning up the planet…that is until the temperatures started going down, which prompted him to tell fellow scientists that they need to “hide the decline”.

Why would an actual ‘scientist’ lie about data?

Possibly to keep the money flowing?

Al Gore is another global warming alarmist.  He’s made movies about it.  He has tried to pass laws (which would benefit him, monetarily) regarding it.  He won a Nobel Prize for it!  Yet, his personal actions only point in one direction…MONEY. 

His latest move was to sell his tv network that nobody watched (Current TV) to an oil magnate.  Yes, Al Gore is $100,000,000 richer because he partnered up with a guy who is rich because of fossil fuels.  ‘Rich’.  That’s a perfect word to sum up this transaction.

Al Gore is one of the Gods of global warming.  Are his actions of hypocrisy enough to give alarmists pause?  No. 

Many alarmists have no problem pointing out the sordid associations between lobbyists and corporations with politics.  They see how big money impacts who gets elected and who gets catered to afterwards..  yet, they cannot bring themselves to connect the dots between climate change activism and the almighty dollar.

And sadly for them, they can’t enjoy decent weather in the winter.  I tell them to stick around for a while and the scientists will be talking about an impending ice age before you know it.
