On Thursday, February 21, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-8) hosted a Transportation Roundtable in Hanover Park, Illinois to discuss transportation issues in the 8^th Congressional District. The roundtable had over twenty attendees that included Mayor Larson of Schaumburg, Hanover Park Village Park President Rod Craig, Illinois Tollway Authority Executive Director Kristi Lafleur, Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning Executive Director Randy Blankenhorn, and representatives from the Army Corps of Engineers. A major topic of discussion was the Elgin-O’Hare Western Access project that received final approval from the Department of Transportation last month. The project is excepted to create 65,000 jobs in the area by 2040.
