Peter Yarrow of 'Peter, Paul and Mary' to Perform at Raue Center

Peter Yarrow of the legendary folk group "Peter, Paul and Mary" will perform live at Raue Center for the Arts on April 20. Yarrow's show starts at 8 p.m. at the Raue Center, located at 26 N. Williams St. in downtown Crystal Lake. Yarrow's music has spanned the generations and touched the lives of so many. His talents as a creative artist — both with Peter, Paul & Mary and as a solo performer — are frequently directed at using music to convey a message of humanity and caring. It's 'First Friday' at Lakeside Legacy and Dole Mansion

It's First Friday at the Dole Mansion-Lakeside Legacy Arts Park in Crystal Lake today. Teens Wait in Line for Hours as Rihanna Excitement Builds

Barrington High School gymnasium starts to fill for pop star Rihanna's visit.

  Teens showed up hours before the doors opened at Barrington High School for today's visit by Rihanna.  Station Middle School seventh-grader Maria Sauzeal said she was especially exicted because at one point it was thought there would only be enough tickets for high school students. "I was screaming when we were told we could get in," Maria said. She and some friends waited outside for hours before the doors opened at noon.  "I've loved her forever, since I was 6 years old," said seventh-grader Alicia Osman. Performer Billy Jonas Brings Creative Show to Raue Center

'Festival of Music' Concert Tonight; Benefits Huntley High School Band Program

The 6th Annual concert Tuesday night features Huntley High School Band and Sun City Concert Band at the Performing Arts Center at the school.

  Huntley High School band director Nick Konwerski and Sun City Concert Band director Donna Bressler are pleased to announce the “Festival of Music” concert. The concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, in the Performing Arts Center at Huntley High School, 13719 Harmony Road, Huntley. This 6th annual concert will feature a variety of new musical selections not previously performed by the combined bands. The event is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted at the door to benefit the Huntley High School band program. Donations from last year’s event totaled $1,079 to which the Sun City Band added another $1,000 for a grand total of $2,079. 'McDance' Readies for Busy St. Patrick's Day Schedule

Dance group from Rebecca McCarthy School of Dance in Algonquin has multitude of appearances planned this St. Patrick's Day week.

For Rebecca McCarthy and her students, St. Patrick's Day keeps them on their toes — literally. Rebecca McCarthy's School of Dance, at 3951 W. Algonquin Road in Algonquin, teaches various forms of dance, including ballet, tap, jazz, and modern to name a few. But this time of the year, it's Irish step dance that has the dance company on the go. This week a group of McCarthy's Irish step dance students, known as "McDance," will be performing throughout Chicagoland. As yee can imagine, the step dancers are highly sought after for the St. Patrick's Day holiday. McDance's St. Patrick's Day gigs this week include performances at The Gladdagh Restaurant in Geneva, the Raue Center for the Arts on Saturday night, a St. Pat's celebration at St. …
