Suspects charged with murder, pimping, prostitution are being held in McHenry County Jail.
A Prairie Grove man who responded to a Craigslist ad for prostitute services in Woodstock died from a gunshot wound, Saturday evening, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
In a news release, Sheriff Keith Nygren announced the arrests of Timothy S. Smith, 26, and his wife, Kimberly A. Smith, 28, both of the 4300 block of Doty Rd. Woodstock. Timothy Smith was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, pandering and pimping. Kimberly Smith was charged with two counts of obstructing justice, disorderly conduct and prostitution.
According to the news release, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Smith home for an unwanted subject at 10:59 p.m., May 28. When officers arrived, they found the victim, 48-year-old Kurt Milliman inside with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Centegra Woodstock Memorial Hospital where he died.
An investigation by sheriff’s officers revealed that the victim solicited prostitution services from a Craigslist ad. While at the Woodstock home, an altercation took place and the victim was shot with a handgun, according to the news release. The McHenry County States Attorney’s Office and the McHenry County Sheriff’s office worked together on an investigation and charges were filed against the Smiths.

Thanks for your comment. The initial news release did not specify the Smiths' relationship and we couldn't assume anything until we talked to a representative of the Sheriff's office.

They are husband and wife. I know the guy but I have never met his wife. They are from a quality family in Woodstock; very sad stuff.

It says "... and his wife...". How did you manage to miss that, Mr. Real Reporter? If you are going to post comments insulting a journalist, don't just skim the article.

J.A.B., are you serious?
this article was first posted over a week ago.. it has been updated. Miss Lenart's comment in this thread confirm that.
Thank you for bringing this to Patch's attention. Most internet blogs will have a line saying, e.g., 'updated on June 1st', etc. The Patch should be doing that.
