Where is the Best Place to Get a Burger in the County?
Tell us where you favorite place is to get a burger in the comments' section below.
We are happy to introduce a new column on McHenry County Patch sites — a column centered around food, local restaurants and you.
The weekly Chowdown Showdown is meant to be a way for readers to pick and vote on their favorite places to get certain entrees in McHenry County. Each week, we will ask you to tell us your favorite place to get a cup of coffee or bowl of chili or breakfast.
This week we want to know, where is the best place in McHenry County to get a burger.
You can let us know your favorite spot by commenting below. You will be able to submit your vote through 5 p.m. Tuesday.
From there, we will take the top three finalists and post in an article first thing Wednesday morning. Then it will be time to vote again — this time for the Chowdown Showdown champion.
Voting will continue through 5 p.m. Friday, and we will announce the winner first thing Saturday morning.
If you are really pulling for a certain restaurant, you can share this column on your personal Facebook page and Twitter feed and ask your followers to vote.
This is all about participation so we hope you will chime in and check back.
So, without further ado, lets get the voting started. Patch readers, tell us by commenting below, where is the BEST place to get a burger in McHenry County?

Two places...in Huntley, of course. One is Parkside Pub. The pepper jack burger is great and they have good prices. My sister says the burgers at Jameson's are huge and very good.

In McHenry County, the best burger I've had was at the Tracks. In Cook County, I agree that Brandt's is the best around. Both of these places make it exceedingly tough to be a vegetarian. I'm hopeful that one or both of them will start sourcing local, grass-fed beef - that'd put them over the top as "best."

Don't know if they are still open but, the best I knew was "The Spot" in Marengo. Been a while since I've been there but they had it down.

My number 2 if the Spot is closed would be the Fire Burger at the Fire Bar. I know they are still open, I just had one.
