• Algonquin Village Hall and Lake in the Hills Village Hall

• Algonquin, Huntley and Crystal Lake libraries

Track Pick-Up

Garbage pick-up in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills will be affected by the New Year's holiday. In both villages, there will be no garbage pick-up on Tuesday. The pick-up will be delayed by one day with Friday pick-up collected on Saturday.

Metra Schedule

Metra will be offering a special holiday schedule on Monday, Dec. 31. The Sunday/holiday schedule will be in effect on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Here are the extra trains that will be available on Metra's Northwest line from Chicago on Dec. 31:

• 12:24 PM - Express to Mt. Prospect and makes all stops to Crystal Lake
• 1:24 PM - Express to Mt. Prospect and makes all stops to Harvard (bus to McHenry)
• 2:24 PM - Express to Mt. Prospect and makes all stops to Crystal Lake
• 3:20 PM - Express to Mt. Prospect and makes all stops to Crystal Lake (Bus to McHenry)
• 3:25 PM - Makes all stops to Palatine

• Modified Trains
• 12:30 PM - (#617) - Will make an additional stop at Gladstone Park
• 4:45 PM - (#631) - Will make all stops to McHenry except Cumberland, Mt. Prospect, Arlington Heights, and Arlington Park
• 5:06 PM - (#637) - Will make an additional stop at Palatine
• 5:20 PM - (#643) - Will make an additional stop at Palatine
• 5:33 PM - (#647) - Will make additional stops at Des Plaines and Cumberland
• 6:25 PM - (#653) - Will depart at 6:30 PM and make all stops to Harvard
