Outdoor Concerts

The Incognitos — a cover band playing popular hits from the 50s through 90s as well as today's favorites— will perform Saturday on the back lawn at the Lake in the Hills Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate, starting at 7 p.m.  

Ben's Bubble show will also be at this Saturday's event to provide entertainment for kids. Food and refreshments will be available to purchase. Don't forget some bug spray and folding chairs. Read more: 'The Incognitos to Perform in LITH'

Folk singer Jeanie B will perform during an outdoor lunch concert at Riverfront Park, 201 N. Harrison St. in Algonquin, Friday from noon to 12:45 p.m.

The concert is free and open to the public. Don't forget a picnic lunch, folding chairs and/or a picnic. 

Cardboard Cup Regatta

Crystal Lake's annual Cardboard Cup Regatta will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Main Beach in Lake Park, 300 Lakeshore Drive in Crystal Lake.

The event typically draws 150 entries and between 2,000 and 4,000 spectators each year, according to the event's website.

Cardboard boats are constructed by those competing and are judged on various categories. Admission is $3 per person and $15 for a family, according to the Northwest Herald.

Richmond Wine Walk

A wine walk and art exhibition will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. this Saturday at 10 downtown Richmond businesses, according to the Richmond Spring Grove Chamber of Commerce Website.

Attendees can stroll through the various businesses where they will be able to sample wine and hor d' oeuvres. The cost is $35 and includes the sampling, a wine glass and complimentary bottle of wine.

Free Community Day at Cary Dog Park

Think your dog could use more socialization with other four-legged, furry friends?

Bring him — or her — out to the free Community Day at the Dog Park, located at Hoffman Park in Cary. The special free event, hosted by the Cary Park District, is open to the community from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23. Read More: Free Community Day at Cary Dog Park

Pancake Breakfast at Lake in the Hills Airport

The Lake in the Hills Airport, 8407 Pyott Road, will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast with pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee and orange juice from 8 a.m. to noon this Sunday.

Anyone is welcome to fly-in, or drive- or walk-in, and the cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 years old and younger. See flyer attached to this article for more information.

Long Grove Strawberry Festival

If you are feeling like a drive at some point this weekend, the (approximately) 40-minute trip to the Long Grove Strawberry Festival might just be worth your while.

There, you will be able to try everything from strawberry-flavored chicken to "strawberry-flavored smoothies, drinks, ice creams, doughnuts and baked goods, as well as the berries themselves," according to the Daily Herald.

Bands will also be performing throughout the festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and is located at Old McHenry and Robert Parker Coffin roads, according to the Long Grove Strawberry Festival website . Regular admission is $5 and kids 12 and under are free. A full band schedule can be found on the festival website.
