Threatening Messages Found on Several LITH Buildings, Property
Lake in the Hills Police Department are investigating seven incidents of criminal defacement reported over Sunday and Monday.
Lake in the Hills Police Department is investigating several incidents from over the weekend of threatening messages spray-painted on buildings and public property.
The messages were "anti-establishment" in nature and also referenced derogatory terms and violent phrases aimed at police, said Sgt. Ted Ziarkowski.
"A total of seven have been found," he said.
The majority of incidents were reported Sunday and Monday and mainly found along the Randall Road corridor in Lake in the Hills, Ziarkowski said.
The messages that were especially derogatory were removed within hours of being discovered, he said.
"The ones that were a little more graphic, we called public works right away and have them removed," Ziarkowski said.
The messages were spray painted in the following locations: Chase Bank, 310 N. Randall Road; a sidewalk near 61 Polaris Drive; various locations at Ken Carpenter Park, 1200 Heartland Gate; various locations at Taylor Skate Park, 1107 Crystal Lake Road; and on a shed at Childworks Preschool, 1203 Crystal Lake Road, according to police documents.
The incidents are currently under investigation with the Lake in the Hills Police Department. Anyone with information on these incidents can contact LITH police at 847-658-5676.
