Starbucks has sent a cease and desist to Starbarks Inc., a dog daycare facility in Algonquin.
Starbucks sent Starbarks, a dog daycare facility at 220 N. Main St. in Algonquin, a cease and desist letter. Starbucks wants Starbarks to change its name, log and website URL, according to the Northwest Herald.

Its a clear rip off of starbucks buy ripping them off they are only hurting their own business. I own a few trademarks and have been ripped off myself. She blatantly rips them off and then they tell her to stop and then she complains about it? Not the type of person I would want caring for my dog.

Just as much as there are similarities, both parties benefit by the name being out there on a busy RT 31. I'd love any similar signs to my business, on any busy intersection.
This is a different name after all; does a trademark infringement cover all alpha and phonetic similarities...noooo! Cheers to the creativity, especially from a small business.
