Police Blotter: Woman Arrested for Endangering Child

Police responded to the following reports and made various arrests between April 27 and May 1, 2012. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Domestic Battery of an Assaulting and Provoking Nature

Police arrested Paul L. Johnson, 47, in the 800 block of Wedgewood Circle at 6:33 p.m. May 1 on charges of domestic battery and domestic battery of an assaulting and provoking nature. Johnson, of 890 Wedgewood Circle, Lake in the Hills, was taken to McHenry County Jail. 

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

Police received a report of criminal damage to a vehicle at Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Road, Lake in the Hills, at 3:12 p.m. May 1. The report was under investigation. 

Dog Bite

Police received a report of two dogs that were attacked by another dog in the 300 block of Oakleaf Road at 5:56 p.m. May 1. The report was turned over to Animal Control. 

Theft

Police received a report of checks that were stolen from the first block of Torrey Pines Court in Lake in the Hills at 6:39 p.m. May 1. The report was turned over to investigations. 

Driving While License Revoked, Speeding in Construction Zone

Police arrested Roman Cortez-Morales, 29, at 12:47 a.m. April 30 on charges of driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, speeding in a construction zone and on a Lake County warrant for failure to appear-driving while license revoked. Cortez-Morales, of 5012 Drive In Lane, Crystal Lake, was taken to McHenry County Jail. 

DUI

Police arrested Mariette L. Pfister, 43, on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to signal at 2:27 a.m. April 29. Pfister, of 1479 Willow Tree Drive, Crystal Lake, later was released on bond. 

Injury Accident

Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at 1:53 p.m. April 29 at Harvest Gate and Algonquin Road. The driver of one of the vehicles, a 39-year-old woman, was taken to Good Shepherd Hospital.

Endangering the Life or Health of a Child

Police arrested Joann C. Huyatid-Olivares, 36, at 9:12 a.m. April 27 at the Algonquin Police Department, 5200 Harnish Drive, Algonquin, on a charge of endangering the life or health of a child. Huyatid-Olivares, of West Dundee, was released on a personal recognizance bond and is expected in court in McHenry County on May 24. 

Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor

Police arrested Jacob J. Herman, 18, at 10:40 p.m. April 28 at Jacobs High School, 2601 Bunker Hill Drive, on a charge of illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Herman, of West Dundee, was released on a notice to appear and is expected in court in Algonquin on May 30. 

Endangering Life of Child, Possession of Hypodermic Syringes

Police arrested Elizabeth D. Bialek, 34, of Woodstock, at 12:35 a.m. April 30 at Square Barn and West Algonquin roads on charges of driving under the influence, no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, endangering the life of a child and possession of hypodermic syringes. She was taken to McHenry County Jail where she was unable to post bond.
