Saw the pictures of this child on the news and I think it's just plain wrong to show a young child in seductive poses. Let this child be a child. Children are growing up way to quickly anyway. No amount of money that she's getting for posing like this is worth it.

Jilly, I agree with you. Let kids be kids! Some of those poses are far too mature for a 10 year old.

I agree with both of you that some of these poses are simply too mature for a 10 year old, model or not. Let the children model youthful clothing befitting their age. I cannot call this Art, because it smacks of exploitation - enough!

Exploitation - period.

I think the most famous example of why this is wrong has to do with Brooke Shields. Her mother approved of an 'art' photo showing her completely nude. She is still fighting to get that image removed as child pornography but has been unsuccessful in doing so. Although the child in this photo is fully clothed, that does not mean she should be dressed and positioned in that way. Why do we as a society allow and encourage the sexualization of young children? Children do not understand the full ramifications of posing like adults and who may be watching them (ie perverts and pedophiles.) Parents are suppose to protect their children, not exploit them.

Eyeliner? Lipstick? Cheek stuff? Hairspray? Too high in the leg sexual cut dresses and suggestive poses?

Not good.
