Newt Gingrich Slates Thursday Rally in Lake in the Hills

Callista Gingrich to visit Goddard School as Gingrich campaign plans two stops in village on Thursday.

Newt Gingrich and his wife, Callista Gingrich, will make campaign stops Thursday in Lake in the Hills.

The Gingrich campaign visits come days before the Illinois primary election Tuesday, March 20. Newt Gingrich and Callista Gingrich also plan stops in Palatine, Barrington, Elgin and Carpentersville today and Thursday.

In Lake in the Hills a rally will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, at 8585 Pyott Road, where Newt Gingrich is expected to give a speech, campaign representatives told Patch.com on Tuesday.

The rally is open to the public and will be held in a private corporate hangar next to Lake in the Hills Airport, according to the Northwest Herald. Campaign representatives told the Northwest Herald that hundreds are expected to attend the rally.

Earlier in the day Thursday, Callista Gingrich is scheduled to visit the Goddard School, 4561 Princeton Lane, Lake in the Hills, where she will get a tour of the school and then read a book she authored, Sweet Land of Liberty, to a pre-kindergarten class of 4- and 5-year-old students, said Goddard School owner Michele Clark.

A mascot for “Ellis the Elephant,” the main character in her book, is expected to accompany Callista Gingrich to Thursday’s visit.

"We are very excited. The timing is so perfect because this month, our school's theme is authors, so the children have been learning about different children's authors and now they get to meet one," Clark said. "This kind of just fell into our laps."

The visit was arranged by a parent of a former Lake in the Hills Goddard School student who is affiliated with the Gingrich campaign, Clark said. Clark shares her thoughts on the visit, as well as some of her students’ thoughts on patriotism and liberty, in an Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Patch blog post today.

Ed Sapeta shows us what real ignorance is with his comment. typical of a northern liberal to categorize conservatives and independents as rednecks.

Ed, since you are in the basement with the kids all day, you have time to read Obama's books, that he co-wrote with Bill Ayers... you might want to spend a little time reading those between nappy time.

Sorry to say, but conservatives ARE rednecks. AND racists. They vote against their best interest because of a scary black man in the White House. GET OVER IT!!

PLEASE! Do us all a favor and educate yourselves a little before you mindlessly vote for the 1% party, the party who hates women, and the party who hates the middle class, and the party who beats the drum for another war, and the party who just overall hates America. Turn off Fox News, and open your eyes to the reality of this great country.

Vote Democratic so we can continue to climb out of this Bush Great Recession that the GOP inflicted on us during George W Bush's eight disastrous years in the White House.

And your GOTP talking point called Bill Ayers?? kinda confirms my racist theory, doesn't it??

It's sad that our country has never been so divided. We fight and call names to demean one another because of a conflict in perceived ideology. We are SHEEP following one talk show host or another who get paid to sell commercial time on TV while they sway us with carefully crafted and edited sound bites appealing to sensitivities we feel in relationships at work, at school, at church, at the bar etc... Is gay marriage TRULY dangerous to the institution of marriage, or is it an opportunity to evolve as a culture and stand UNITED with other Americans who want stability and security with the ones they love? Is it REALLY important that we force Catholic churches to pay for abortions, sterilizations, and contraception when these practices are an affront to the very foundations of a 2000 year old religion. Perhaps we should look more closely at how we let the S.E.C. operate from day to day. We need to look at the impact we have on the earth, we also need to consider the human cost when we financially ruin people to protect an owl. Human life is at risk from war and abortion, both atrocities committed in the name of our "way of life". Conservatives and liberals alike need to be strong enough to elect a person who has the ability to LEAD and usher in a collective dignity and respect for ourselves and each other as AMERICANS in a way we never have.
