A 67-year-old Streamwood man was taken to an area hospital Wednesday morning for treatment of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash.

The accident occurred when a vehicle struck another vehicle from behind while both traveled north on Highway 31 around 6 a.m. Wednesday, approaching Virginia Road, said Sgt. Terri Vollmer, of the Lake in the Hills Department.

Dioscoro Nogrado, the Streamwood man, was cited for driving too closely to the vehicle that was struck. Jessica Galdamez, 23, of Carpentersville drove the vehicle that was struck and was not injured, Vollmer said.

The airbags in Nogrado’s vehicle went off and he sustained minor injuries, Vollmer said.
