Man Found Dead Near Indian Prairie School in Crystal Lake

A man was found dead in a car at Indian Prairie Park, along Miller Road, in Crystal Lake, the Northwest Herald reports.

 

 

The Northwest Herald reports that a man was found dead in a parked car at Indian Prairie Park on Friday afternoon.

The identity of the man was not released.

The Crystal Lake Police Department was called Jan. 4, to assist the Crystal Lake Park District police at the scene, the Herald story stated.

Indian Prairie Park is located north of Miller Road and west of Randall Road. The park is adjacent to Indian Prairie Elementary School, and its large hill is a popular sledding spot for kids. 

The man appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound, the Herald story stated.

This is so sad. If it was self-inflicted, to think this person felt there was nothing else to do but this, well, it saddens me. It saddens me even more to know that there likely is someone out there who may have cared about this person, and they are now the one(s) suffering. What a sad, vicious circle.

yep, it is horrible. This man was a friend of mine, as well as many people. We are all still in shock over this, no one had any idea he was so depressed in this manner..
