LITH Woman Receives Army National Guard Promotion

Jenna Maravillas, a native of Lake in the Hills, was promoted to the rank of staff sergeant on Jan. 25 at Marseilles Training Center in Marseilles. She is pictured is pictured with fellow national guard members and her daughter, Elizabeth-Joy.

A Lake in the Hills native has been promoted to a staff sergeant for the army national guard. 

Jenna Maravillas was promoted to position on Jan. 25 at Marseilles Training Center in Marseilles, according to a Illinois National Guard press release. 

Maravillas enlisted in the army in February 2003 and later joined the Illinois Army National Guard in 2009.

She was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from January 2003 through January 2004 and from August 2006 to November 2007, according to the news release.
