Employees to be Honored for Saving Man From Pool
The employees will be recognized at Wednesday's Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District board meeting.
Several employees of Lifetime Fitness in Algonquin will be honored tonight at an Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District Board meeting.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Department's Station 1, 1020 W. Algonquin Road, Lake in the Hills.
The employees will be recognized for their "heroic actions" in helping pull an unconscious man who was lying face down in the water from a Lifetime Fitness swimming pool, according to a fire protection district press release.
The employees got him out of the pool, performed CPR and called 911, according to the release. The man had regained consciousness and was responsive by the time emergency personnel arrived.
"He was transported to an area hospital and has a very good prognosis," according to the news release. "If not for their selfless, calm and quick actions the gentleman likely would have died."
