Lake in the Hills to Get Park-and-Ride Lot

The 110-space lot will be located at the southwest corner of Route 31 and Virginia Road.

A new park-and-ride facility in Lake in the Hills will give commuters a designated place to meet for carpooling purposes.

The Lake in the Hills Village Board on Thursday approved variances for the park-and-ride lot, which will be built by McHenry County Division of Transportation, according to village board documents.

The lot will located at the southwest corner of Virginia Road and Route 31 in Lake in the Hills and will have 110 spaces.

Construction is expected to start this summer and take a couple months, according to the Northwest Herald.

The project will be paid for by a $1 million federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement grant, which should cover the cost of design and construction, according to the NW Herald.
