District 300 Teachers Union to Take Strike Authorization Vote Sunday

Members of LEAD 300 will meet Sunday to consider a strike authorization vote.

Teachers in District 300 will take part in a strike authorization vote on Sunday, the Northwest Herald reports.

LEAD 300, the teachers union for Community Unit School District 300, decided to gather members for the vote on Thursday, the story said.

Approving the authorization vote does not mean a strike would occur right away, but keeps the option available for LEAD 300 should negotiations hit an impasse, the story said.

The teachers union needs only to approve the measure by a simple majority to approve the strike authorization, the Northwest Herald article states.
