District 300, Teacher's Union May Ratify Contract This Week
Details surrounding the contract are not expected to be released until the deal has been ratified by District 300 and the teacher's union.
In a Sunday meeting, LEAD 300 union leaders were expected to present to its 1,300-member union details surrounding a three-year contract, according to the Northwest Herald.
The tentative deal was reached following a one-day strike earlier this month. Prior to the strike, the district and LEAD 300 spent months negotiating the terms of the contract. The two main sticking points for teachers leading up to the strike centered around salary and classroom size.
The union is expected to vote on the contract on Wednesday and if approved, District 300 could meet in a special session Thursday to vote on the contract, according to the NW Herald.
Details surrounding the tentative deal are not expected to be released until the contract has been ratified.
