Crystal Lake Police Searching for Robbery Suspect

A man threatened employees and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash at about noon on Saturday, March 2.

 

 

Crystal Lake Police are searching for a man who robbed "The Cash Store" on Route 31 on Saturday afternoon.

A man entered the store located at 1125 S. Route 31, near Rakow Road, at about 12:23 p.m. and demanded money, according to Crystal Lake Police Cmdr. Dan Dziewior.

The alleged robber was described as an African-American male wearing a grey pull-over style hooded sweatshirt, blue denim carpenter style pants, tan work boots, black knit mask and black gloves. He weighed about 230 pounds and was about 6 feet, 2-inches tall.

The man did not display a weapon, but he threatened the lives of the employees within the store, Dziewior stated in a press release. He took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene in a vehicle that resembled a dark colored Dodge mini-van or Durango, police said.

No Cash Store employess were injured in the robbery, Dziewior said.
