Cary Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Five Children

Michael S. Reck, 38, was arrested Friday, Jan. 11, and charged with sexual offenses against five victims age 4 to 14, Cary Police said.

A Cary man has been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting five children, ages 4 to 14, according to the Cary Police Department.

Michael S. Reck, 38, 10 Wulff St., Cary, has been charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault (a Class X felony), seven counts criminal sexual assault (Class 1 felony), and two counts aggravated criminal sexual abuse (Class 2 felony), according to a Cary Police Department press release.

On Jan. 6, police were notified of alleged incidents between Reck and the five victims, and immediately began an investigation. Police established the victims are both males and females, and all are related to or acquaintances of Reck's.

Reck is accused of committing numerous sexual acts with the victims over a six month period at his Cary home on Wulff Street, according to police.

Reck remains in custody at the McHenry County Correctional Facility on a $580,000 bond, police said.

The investigation is ongoing with more charges and additional victims possible, the release stated.

Worst crime that could be committed but do you really think you should be posting this since it is only an arrest and not a conviction. If he is inocent the implications will stay with him for a lifetime. ??? just say'n

This blog never said anywhere that this LOSER had been found guilty of these CRIMES, only that he had been arrested and accused of these atrocities. No problem there unless they'd prematurely said the LOSER was guilty (already). Save your sympathy for someone who really deserves it, like those children victims.

And if he is guilty???????????????Then what ??????

It is only an arrest, when the conviction comes is...will you say its only a conviction it isn't a sentance. Obviously you have never been a victim of sexual assault, so you think its okay.............Well, I for one have been and I think its about someone treats a perpatrator like the criminal he is. I am glad you are there to support the offenders and not the victims. Thank you Maggie

Feel any way you want, but in this great country you are innocent until proven guilty by a jury or judge, whichever he shall choose. This article alone could be enough to cause a mistrial and give him a slander suit. In America, you can have an opinion but it cannot be started in a way that is slanderous or in a way that defames character. This is why we have judges and jury. It may not be perfect but its the way our fore fathers built this country. I'm not defending or damning anyone, just defending our legal system.

This article could not cause a mistrial. The story repeatedly states Mr. Reck been accused of the crimes. He was arrested and charged by police - and the police issued the press release.

Your right Stephanie. My apology. I got very carried away, and went overboard. Even i am guilty of posting false information lol. The article is fine, and a good scoop.

Watch to see when this guy is released from prison. Too many times these types repeat the behavior and at some point the responsibility is with the judge who releases them. Yet we are anesthetized with "conventional wisdom" about the need for gun control.

WHAT kind of person could do that??!!! I wish I could type the explatives that I'm thinking of right now. This is sickening, disgusting and horrid that someone could do that to children. What's additionally disturbing is that he lives right down the block from a grade school... my daughter's gradeschool. So many kids walk right by his house everyday, to and from school.

I want to see articles like this on patch because this material would be posted in a news paper so I think its appropriate information to be posted in the patch. Their may be more victums and this may help bring them forward. The community has a right to know of crimes committed in their areas.

I understand that we all have rights and that we have a great country where we aren't guilty until proven so, but this man CONFESSED to the police what he did. He has ruined so many lives and 6 of them that we know of so far are children ages 4-14! The 4yr old is HIS OWN DAUGHTER! He raped these children who looked to him as a father, and uncle and a friend. He may deserve the right to a trial, but did he have the right to take the innocence of children? No I don't think so. Did he have the right to probably kill any chances of these children having normal lives and healthy relationships when they're older? No I don't think so. I know God will judge him, but I also hope that the broom stick up his ass in his new cell block will too.
