The Cary-Grove Trojans will be advancing in the Illinois High School Association's varsity football playoffs.
In a very close game on Saturday afternoon in Cary, the Trojans beat cross-district rival, the Crystal Lake Central Tigers, 7-0.
Fans from both schools packed the spectator stands, and many onlookers watched from outside the field. The Trojans and Tigers were neck and neck most of the game.
A couple turnovers in the fourth quarter presented the Tigers with an opportunity to tie it up, but they were unable to advance the ball.
The Trojans will play next weekend in Lake Forest for a semifinal game.
Congratulations to the Trojans, and congratulations to the Tigers on a great season!
