Blockbuster in Lake in the Hills to Close
The video store will continue renting through Jan. 30.
Blockbuster Video in Lake in the Hills is closing its doors.
The last day for rental at the Lake in the Hills video store, 208 N. Randall Road, will be Jan. 30. The store will remain open from Jan. 31 through March 18 for a liquidation sale.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the store was offering pre-played DVDs, Blue Rays and video games at three for $14.99 and five for $24.99 as part of a sale.
This past week, Dish Network Corp., which owns the video-rental chain, told Reuters it "would be closing more Blockbuster stores than originally planned." Chief Executive Joe Clayton told Reuters "all unprofitable (stores) will come under the knife."
