D300 Foundation's Evening of Fine Arts in a Blacksmith Shop

The historic Illinois Iron & Bolt Foundry in Carpentersville that has been recently restored and renovated will host the D300 Foundation Cultural Arts on the Fox Thursday evening.

The public is invited to an evening of music, drama and visual arts at the first-ever “D300 Foundation Cultural Arts on the Fox” this Thursday evening at the newly renovated Illinois Iron & Bolt Foundry in Carpentersville.

“Our cultural arts event will allow the public to hear and see the wonderful work being done in our District 300 schools for the performing and fine arts,” said Diane Magerko, D300 Foundation Performing and Fine Arts Chair, in a statement. “This historical setting is the perfect venue to experience a night of vocals, music, drama and visual arts.

This former foundry will be the setting for the event and will showcase work done by D300 high school students in voice, music, drama and visual arts. Some high school art teachers will have their own work on display at the event.

Tom Roeser, owner of Otto Engineering, has renovated and restored the historical building to a pristine level. The original bricks from the Illinois Iron & Bolt Foundry were washed, turned and used at the current site.  A large portion of the original structure is incorporated into the current design, such as the wood beams that run along the ceiling of the building.

The event runs from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 at 11 W. Main, Carpentersville.
