An Algonquin man died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after a standoff with police, the Daily Herald reported.
Police responded to a report of a suicidal man with a gun in the 900 block of Glacier Parkway at about 10:51 a.m., the newspaper reported. Algonquin police said there was communication with the man, but after about two hours officers heard three shots fired and entered the house, the Daily Herald reported.
