Republican candidate David McScweeney is up against Independent candidate Dee Beaubien in the 52nd House District race.
Beaubien of Barrington Hills was the wife of Mark H. Beaubien, Jr. who represented the district from 1996 until his unexpected death on June 5, 2011.
McSweeney of Barrington Hills is a financial consultant who has served as a Palatine Township trustee, Palatine Township collector and on the village of Inverness Plan Commission.
The 52nd House District covers a portion of Algonquin, Crystal Lake, Lake in the Hills, Barrington, Cary, Fox River Grove, Wauconda and Island Lake and is in portions of McHenry, Lake, Cook and Kane counties.
